Commercially available mobile robots must behave as intended in a wide variety of environments, particularly in the outdoor sector. As the number of potential application environments increases, so does the associated need for testing, which cannot be covered cost-effectively with physical prototypes.

Solution

A digital twin of the operational environment for an agricultural robot was developed. This allows efficient and scalable testing of the robot in different application scenarios of its operational design domain.
